The CAM’s recent certification under Good4.Global.’s Global ESG Program, an internationally recognized initiative based on a rigorous assessment by Ecocert Canada, confirms our commitment to upholding environmental, social, economic and governance-related sustainability principles in everything we do.
The Conseil’s initiatives demonstrate our commitment to responsible and sustainable management with a view to meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet the needs of tomorrow.
The Level 2 “Performance” certification achieved by the CAM uses concrete indicators to monitor and measure outcomes, demonstrating the effectiveness of the actions taken. It goes beyond mere commitments and follows a structured approach targeting tangible improvement in our overall ecoresponsibility performance.
This recognition aligns perfectly with our priority areas of action: implementing our eco-responsible transition plan, encouraging and supporting innovative initiatives within the community, and acting as a catalyst to help arts organizations collectively expedite efforts to shrink their carbon footprint and adopt sustainable practices.
The transformational initiatives taken so far include the following:
- Making a public commitment to sustainable development based on the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals to end poverty, protect the planet and provide prosperity for all
- Adopting a socio-ecological transition policy and a responsible procurement policy
- Creating a socio-ecological transition committee
- Standardizing waste management in our offices and reducing the carbon footprint of our events
- Providing training to the arts community in partnership with Écoscéno and the Conseil québécois des événements écoresponsables to strengthen the milieu’s ability to drive its own transition
- Pursuing our equity initiatives initiated over 20 years ago and launching the Equity Policy, which is grounded in an intersectional approach
