Creative spaces
The Conseil believes that the city’s artistic vitality depends directly on the working and living conditions provided to artists. This means it is essential to work together to provide them with creative spaces that are affordable, tailored to their needs and conducive to their development.
Socio-ecological transition
The CAM aims to play a leading role in collective efforts to tackle the climate crisis. That’s why we are transitioning our practices toward more accountable, fair and sustainable models.
Reducing our carbon footprint is at the heart of this process. Our actions are based on six priorities: sustainable transportation, digital economy, local and responsible procurement, waste management, financing and human resources.
Because the transition is a collective effort, we also support Montréal’s cultural communities in their own journeys. From training to tools, support and funding programs, we are implementing concrete ways to help organizations and artists incorporate environmentally responsible practices and strengthen their resilience in the face of the challenges of tomorrow.

If creativity has a city, then Montreal’s talent has a home base and a place to shine. The Conseil des arts de Montréal offers support to artists and organizations, helping them express their creativity, strengthen their activities, improve their practice and ultimately gain recognition.
Support CAM
Faced with the immense challenges confronting the arts community and the inherent uncertainty of public funding, the Conseil works hand in hand with the philanthropic community. Our goal? To encourage donors to give to the arts and to raise new funds, all of which are channeled back to arts organizations, through our many programs and initiatives.
