Montréal, July 6, 2023 – The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) and the Conseil des arts de Montréal (CAM) are glad to announce that special registration is now open to arts organizations for a planned international performing arts event for young audiences in Montréal.
This special registration is open to Montréal-based performing arts organizations (circus arts, multidisciplinary arts, dance, music and theater) that meet the criteria for both CALQ and CAM.
Eligible organizations’ proposed events must be designed for annual or biennial presentation, and their debut presentation must be no later than June 30, 2026.
Organizations who wish to apply can submit proposals on CALQ’s website until September 25, 2023. Only one organization will be selected for this unique initiative.
“We are thrilled by the idea of a new Montréal international performing arts event, providing an excellent showcase for productions for young audiences made in Montréal, Québec, and Canada. I am certain that this partnership will give rise to a foundational event in the cultural sphere where memorable works for multi-generational audiences can find an international platform.”
– Anne-Marie Jean, President and Executive Director, Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec
“ Performing arts for young audiences is an essential part of Montréal artistic life. Creators from all over are invited to seek out young audiences and make work that celebrates their curiosity, open minds, and imagination and speaks to the adults they will become. The Conseil des arts de Montréal is pleased to see arts organizations mobilize on such a large scale and to offer its support for what is sure to be a mainstay on the local scene.”
– Nathalie Maillé, Executive Director, Conseil des arts de Montréal
