Eco-responsibility training: a different way

Date

15/07/2026

Faced with the challenges of the socio-ecological transition, the cultural community is being called upon to rethink its ways of creating, producing and disseminating.

To help with this transformation, the Conseil des arts de Montréal offers arts organizations training to acquire knowledge, share expertise and develop more sustainable practices.

Organized with the support of committed partners, the Caisse Desjardins de la culture and the Fondation familiale Trottier, these training sessions provide participants with practical tools, opportunities for exchanging, and support tailored to the realities of Montréal’s artistic community.

Eco-design training with Écoscéno

Since 2025, the CAM has worked with Écoscéno on providing specialized ecodesign training for artists, craftspersons and cultural workers, particularly in the performing arts sector.

Specifically, this training helps:

  • better grasp the principles of eco-design, eco-responsibility and the circular economy;
  • use eco-design strategies in the development of artistic projects;
  • identify materials and creative techniques with a smaller environmental impact; and
  • discover tangible tools that promote the application of sustainable practices in creative projects.

Some cohorts also include one-on-one coaching to help introduce learning in participating organizations.
