Creative spaces

The Conseil believes that the city’s artistic vitality depends directly on the creative conditions provided to artists. This means it is essential to work together to provide them with creative spaces that are affordable, tailored to their needs and conducive to their development.
Close and continuous collaboration
Since 2019, the Conseil has been working actively with the City of Montréal’s culture department to implement the action plan for artists’ studios.
This joint effort makes it possible to ensure a more consistent approach, optimize resources and take more effective action.
The Conseil is also implementing its own initiatives to concretely support the development of creative infrastructure, ranging from forward-looking programs to support tools and spaces for reflection.
A collective project
In line with its 2026–2030 strategic plan, Pour les arts, pour le monde, the Conseil intends to serve as a catalyst for cohesion within the ecosystem by rallying public, private and community partners around forward-looking projects and investments.
It wants to give the community a voice in major debates and critical issues, such as the sustainability of creative spaces in Montréal.
These approaches are based on a collaborative approach that brings together the artistic community and a wide range of partners from the social economy, collective real estate, philanthropy and public institutions, both locally and nationally.
Together, we help design and implement innovative, agile and sustainable solutions.
