BLACK ON BLACK FILMS and the Conseil des arts de Montréal are proud to welcome Laetitia Angba, Christian Boakye-Agyeman, Florence M. Rosalie Dubois and Emem Etti, winners of the second edition of Je me vois à l’écran.

Offered to emerging artists from Afro-descendant communities in Montreal, this 20-week screenwriting residency will take the form of a creative lab including mentorship, directing workshops and participation to networking events in the film industry. Judith Brès, Jorge Camarotti, Ky Nam Le Duc and Jacob Potashnik will guide/counsel the creators for a second year.

The members of the jury were particularly delighted with the quality and diversity of the applications from an emerging generation of artists within the black communities of Montreal. Having distinguished themselves by the quality of their application, their creative approach and the originality of their proposed script, the four laureates will receive a $1,000 grant and they will present their final script during a public reading organized in part with the Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma film festival.
