Postponement of cycle start date for the Conseil des arts de Montréal’s General Funding Program

For: Organizations receiving four-year and two-year operating grants under the General Funding Program

The uncertainty caused by the pandemic is currently making it impossible for activities to resume in Montreal’s arts community. Given this situation, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) announced earlier today that it is deferring the evaluation of applications under its Mission support (grant) program.

For several years, the Conseil des arts de Montréal (CAM) has aligned the cycle for its General Funding Program operating grants with the CALQ calendar in order to facilitate its clientele’s preparatory work. Well aware of the pressure being felt by arts organizations in Montreal, the CAM is postponing until 2022 the opening of the cycle for applications to its General Funding Program.

This means that arts organizations receiving four-year and two-year operating grants will have their grants extended for 2021, CAM’s financial capacities permitting. The program cycle will open in 2022, which we trust will be a much happier time for our community and will allow us all to get back to work.
