Regard sur Montréal Film Residency

Application deadline: Closed for 2019

Lasting 10 months, the residency will allow the recipient to make a short documentary relating to Montreal. The city’s filmography will thus be enriched by the vision of an emerging, culturally diverse artist, offering a fresh perspective on the metropolis.

The Conseil des arts de Montréal, the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) and the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) are jointly offering the Regard sur Montréal residency, which is intended for emerging artists, immigrant artists from a first-generation cultural community or members of a visible minority, in collaboration with Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM) and Les Films de l'Autre. This $75,000 residency covers the costs of screenwriting, direction, post-production, promotion and distribution.
