COVID-19 : Conseil's Guidelines

Information note : March 23, 2020

Guidelines for Conseil des arts de Montréal funding programs during the coronavirus crisis.

As announced in the Conseil’s 2020 budget, more than $17 million is to be provided to Montreal-based arts organizations and collectives. The Conseil is well aware that the organizations, collectives and artists it funds will be under significant financial pressure as a result of this crisis, and has every intention of honouring the financial commitments it has made to date. Insofar as possible, we will immediately adopt measures to benefit the artists and cultural workers facing hardship due to the pandemic. The Conseil is encouraging the organizations and collectives to honour their financial commitments to artists, cultural workers and suppliers.

The Conseil is keeping in close contact with the City of Montreal and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec to monitor the evolution of this urgent situation. We are endeavouring to keep the Montreal arts community informed of measures being taken by the different levels of government.
