The Conseil is presenting Le chant des oiseaux, an exhibition by Leila Zelli (in collaboration with Guillaume Pascale). Leila is the winner of the 6th Impressions residency offered by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in partnership with the Conseil.

This research-creation residency for culturally diverse artists is intended to spark cross-cutting dialogue informed by the MMFA’s collection, an inspirational visual arts resource and one of the most significant collections in Quebec.

Leila Zelli combines video and installation art to explore the concept of otherness, our reactions to media images of armed conflicts in the Middle East and the representation of cultural identity. Part of this exhibition is being featured simultaneously at the MMFA, which has been collaborating with the Conseil on this residency program for the past six years.
