What’s happening in the research-creation residency for culturally diverse artists in theatre and new artistic practices

Ever wonder how we would live together in imminent danger? How we would manage to stay afloat in turbulent waters? Since August 15, Créations GIROVAGO has been working on its creative project Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra (GKO): Aguas turbias, as part of the research-creation residency for culturally diverse artists in theatre and new artistic practices. Directed by Ricard Soler Mallol, this multidisciplinary experience features musicians, dancers and circus artists.

“In this age of heightened individualism, with communities walling themselves off,” GKO is exploring three fundamental issues: the environmental emergency, the need for us to learn to live together again, and what actions we can take collectively to preserve the environment.

This ambitious project is under development until December 2019 in this residency, with the support of the Conseil des arts de Montréal and Théâtre aux Écuries. The work will be performed in the spring of 2020 at MTELUS in Montreal. Definitely a show worth watching for!
