Maison du Conseil des arts de Montréal, Gaston-Miron Building

The Maison du Conseil des arts de Montréal offers a number of different rental venues in the historic Gaston-Miron Building (formerly Montreal’s main public library), situated on Sherbrooke Street facing Parc Lafontaine.

Atrium
The crowning glory of this Beaux-Arts style building, the impressive atrium is a vast yet intimate space ideal for all manner of events, from cocktail parties to conferences or business meetings, from filming or photoshoots to family reunions.

- Capacity: 200 standing or 100 seated

Mezzanine
Overlooking the atrium, the mezzanine can serve as a gallery for exhibitions.

- Wall-mounted cable hanging system

Conference room
This fully equipped venue facilitates conversation and interaction around the old reading tables of the former public library.

- Capacity: 28 seated and 10 observers
- Projector and screen
- Built-in amplification system
- Kitchenette
- Enclosed change room
- Wifi

Baroque hall
Adjoining the atrium, this intimate hall is dominated by a magnificent baroque painted ceiling. The hall can serve as a lounge or dining room, depending on the occasion.

Cafeteria
Located in the basement, the cafeteria is available to serve light refreshments, box lunches or a simple buffet.

- Capacity: 60 standing or 40 seated
- Kitchenette (with microwave and fridge)
- Dispensing machines (coffee, juice, water, soft drinks, snacks)

Rehearsal studios
The Maison du Conseil des arts de Montréal has become a major centre for artistic creation and production in the past few years, making its spacious rehearsal facilities available to the arts community at reasonable rates.

- Capacity: 60 people
- Priority is given to works in the creation phase.
