Résonance 2017 | Radio creation in all its forms

From August 18 to August 20, 2017

6750, avenue de l'Espanade, bureau 102, Montréal

We are perhaps living in the golden age of radiophonic creation, and Montreal has not been left behind. The community here has been united by a new player: Magneto. This non-profit organization is devoted to the creation, promotion and dissemination of sound and radio works. The first edition of its festival will take place on August 18, 19 and 20 on Esplanade Avenue (in Montreal’s Mile-Ex). With its wealth of discoveries, this is an absolute must for all radio-lovers: training for some, networking for others, for participants of all ages. Résonance 2017 will present documentaries and fictional works, both old and new, as well as experiments of all kinds, an introduction to radio creation, and an overview of the rich and dynamic world of Quebec radio.

Mutek 2017

From August 23 to August 27, 2017

For the first time, the MUTEK festival will be held in August. And this edition will likely be its most ambitious ever, celebrating Montreal’s 375th anniversary in conjunction with its partner cities: Barcelona, Berlin, Mexico City and London. It will offer a longer program this year, as well as live performances combining visual arts, sound arts and technologies. This fabulous festival will take place from August 23 to 27—five days (and nights) in which digital arts and electronic music fans will be dazzled by bold artists from Montreal and abroad. MUTEK, we recall, is a Montreal organization that has existed for 17 years, an undeniable success story. Several sites in Montreal will host these shows: the Quartier des spectacles, Métropolis, SAT, Monument National, Espace danse (Wilder Building), and the outdoor stage of the Place des arts esplanade.
