Consulting Service for Emerging Artists

To help young artists integrate into the professional arts community, the Conseil des arts de Montréal offers both information and active, personalized guidance. Several advisory services are offered, depending on individual needs:

Orientation : helps artists in their first steps towards launching a professional career.

Information : provides access to pertinent, accurate and up-to-date information on the various resources and services available to artists working on the Island of Montreal.

Guidance and professional development : advises young artists with regard to grant and funding applications (writing an artist CV, artistic approach, artistic projects, budget); instructs artists in the field of self-promotion through the use of the portfolio, press kit, press release; introduces artists to the fundamentals of the business-arts equation, including letters of intent, budget estimates, visibility strategies, referrals, all of which relate to sponsorship requests.

Professional integration : encourages twinning between artists, professional arts associations and government agencies.

Networking : encourages artists to make professional contacts in their field to help further their careers.

Info-arts meetings : information, training and networking sessions held on a regular basis.
